Kurt Bardella

Kurt Bardella serves as a NewsNation contributor. He joined the network in February 2024.

Mr. Bardella has been a strategic communications advisor and media relations consultant for more than two decades. Currently, he serves as an advisor for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) as well as a contributor to the Los Angeles Times and USA Today.

Previously, he worked as a spokesperson and senior advisor for Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee under the leadership of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA).  During his time at the committee, he choreographed the media strategy for investigations related to the 2008 financial crisis, the bailouts of financial institutions like Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, probes into corporate conglomerates such as Toyota, BP, and Johnson & Johnson.

He also served as a contributor to MSNBC where he made regular appearances on the network’s most popular programs, including Morning Joe and Deadline White House.

Mr. Bardella is also the creator and publisher of the influential country music media platform the “Morning Hangover.”  He is a member of the Korean Americans for Political Action (KAPA) Advisory Board.
